GDS' goal is to lower the barrier to therapy for a large underserved patient population with a minimially invasive method to accomplish a "ventriculoplasty". This procedure has the potential to facilitate the early delivery of a clinically and economically superior treatment for Mitral Regurgitation (MR).
The Percutaneous Procedure
A small adjustable ring of anchors interlinked with a cable is implanted percutaneously into the muscle below the mitral valve. The "cinching" effect improves the ability of the mitral valve to close properly and reduces the mitral regurgitation.
